Presents

I finished making a stuffed kitten for one of my friends at work. I showed it to Panda who I expected to look at it like it was stupid, instead she started playing with it, until I finally gave her the ribbon that was around it which she tried to eat. But it wasn't just the ribbon, she rolled around playing with the toy kitten, batting it around and flipping around it. My poor friend will be getting a stuffed toy kitten covered in black and white Panda fur.

Hyper

Wally and Panda are running around here like there is no tomorrow. They are taking turns chasing after each other and just about knocking down the Christmas tree. Then they stop for a few minutes and after they are full rested and have eaten something they start it up again.

Humphrey's last day

Humphrey went home today, well actually he went to work where his mom could show him off to our friends. I got his food, bowls, and snacks packed up and him zipped safely in his cat carrier, then once the door was open and I was setting him down so I could lock the door Panda ran out, I guess she didn't want him to leave in the end and both her and Wally have been very lazy since he left. I guess they had one fun filled weekend.

Humphrey's visit part 2

Panda is still being a brat, hissing at him every time he comes close, Wally has been acting like the sweet big brother that he is and keeps washing Humphrey's face. Humphrey seems to be having a great time, so many toys to play with, and he likes me too. It's to bad Panda has to be so rude.

House Guest

This weekend, while my friend is out of town, we are babysitting her kitten Humphry. He seems to be enjoying himself, playing with toys, and following Panda and Wally around...they however are unsure of what to think of their new friend.

Is there someone outside?

The other day, when I was trying to sleep, Wally got up in the bedroom window and kept doing this really weird meow, that had like five notes, over and over again. It was really cute, or would have been if I wasn't trying to sleep, and I never did figure out what it was that had him talking so much.

So, Wally has a thing for boxes, he finds them, sleeps in them, plays...whatever cats do. He also likes to eat them. The cardboard lid that he has been playing with since I moved in has become a chew toy, which means there is cardboard all over my floor, so I bought the little monsters a cat house in the form of a square cloth thing with three big holes in it, one of my better investments because they are in love. Wally was lying in it during lunch and they had it turned so that one of the holes was facing up, which is the one Panda chose to jump through to attack him...great fun followed.

Under Cover

Now that there are two kittens they tend to behave better at night than just Wally did, who used to drive me crazy and wake me up at 4 in the morning. However the other night the opposite happened, I was alone in my room with both kittens sleeping in the living room, I called for Wally and Panda and eventually I heard the tale tell jingle of a kitten's bell on tag and Panda walked around the corner and looked at me, so cute. She then jumped up onto the bed and maneuvered her way under the blanket and curled up next to me and fell asleep for a little while.

Sleep no more

So apparently sleeping is overrated for the furry ones. They spent all night licking me...its sweet and nice to know the kittens love their momma but it gets really hard to sleep when you have to actually hide under the blankets so they will leave you alone. I guess that is what I get for letting them sleep all day.

The Red Light

This evening when I got home the kittens wanted attention. So what do I do? I bring out the laser light my mom got for them when we moved in. Wally and Panda chase it around for a while and then they just lay down and watch it, occasionally reaching out and trying to grab it. So I started moving it in circles around Wally making him spin, that didn't last long. Then I did it to Panda, she went around, and around, and around, and around, until she was so dizzy she couldn't spin any more, started stumbling sideways, and fell over a couple of times. It was one of the FUNNIEST things I have ever seen. Oh how I love silly kittens.

Cats n Tubs

So for whatever reason Panda and Wally love my bathroom, and the tub. Whenever they get the chance they hop into the tub and play, or in Wally's case he just lays down. Panda has a bad habit of getting onto the sink so I usually leave the bathroom door closed while I am sleeping so she doesn't lose my stuff down the drain or who knows where in the apartment. The other night I couldn't get them both out of the bathroom so I thought I would give them a chance and left the door open, much to their collective joy. I then heard a strange sound, like someone was knocking on the side of the tub, I figured they had a bug or a piece of string or something so I went to check it out. Apparently Panda is way confused by the fact that she can not actually sharpen her claws on the inside of a tub. There she was trying to scratch and her paws kept sliding off the surface. It was hilarious and she just kept on trying.
The door was then closed when the tried to use my rug as a new toy.

Wake up Calls

The other morning when my alarm went off I was not the only one in bed, Wally was sleeping on the side by the wall and Panda was on the side by the alarm. Now usually Panda will wake up and look at me when the stupid thing goes off but then I hit it and we all go back to sleep. However on that particular morning Wally must have been sound asleep because when the alarm started playing the music selection of the day he sat up really fast and seemed pretty freaked out. The alarm played for longer than normal due to the fact that I needed to calm him down by giving him a big hug, then we all went back to sleep for another 5 minutes.

New Member of the Family

My baby bear now had a baby bear of his own. My parents stopped by a yard sale today which happened to be where we got Wally last year, it turns out they had a new litter of kittens, his sister's kittens. There was one kitten left, black with white feet, spot on her nose, and some white on her tummy. Panda seems to be fitting in quite well, or at least keeping Wally entertained. He lets her eat, play on his tree, and play with his toys. Finally my baby Koala (Wally) bear has his own panda bear.

Visiters

The puppies came to visit Wally today for the first time since we moved and although he acted as though he didn't care he spent most of the time stalking them and playing leapfrog on his way across the room. He also ran up from behind Pepper and wraped his legs around her head and chewed on her neck, which is something they have always done.

Apparently when we took the puppies out to potty I didn't close the door all the way and my grandmother, who stayed inside while mom and I took the dogs, said that Wally just freaked out and tried as hard as he could to pull the door open, a trick I let him learn while we were still at home.

He seemed so happy to see his puppies again it makes me want to get him a pet of his own even more.

Beds and Blankets

So I was laying out my towels so they could dry just a little bit more, they were still kind of damp when I took them out of the dryer. Anyway one of them I put over the laundry basket, well Wally thought that it would be a great place to lay down so when he climbed on top of the towel it just fell into the basket and he curled up on it and got comfortable. Now only recently has he even been willing to lay on blankets in the first place so this was interesting, but I guess the towel and the basket still smell like me so that made him happy, I don't know. Anyway I figured it would be a one time thing, but when I was in my room after work he jumped in there again, walked around in a circle three times, and lay down...so stinking cute. I guess the kitten has a new bed now.

Don't Touch Me!

This afternoon, at lunch, Wally was laying on the couch next to me, upside down of course, and so I reached over and scratched his chest cuz its all soft and white. Well he gave me this look that so clearly said, 'what are you doing woman, don't touch me,' then he set about cleaning his chest where I touched him, while giving me dirty looks...so I did it again.

sleeping kitten

so some back story:
Ever since Wally moved inside his favorite position to sleep or just lay in is on his back. He may be curled up like a normal cat one minute and then the next time you look at him he is upside down.

The other day when I went home for lunch Wally curled up next to me on the couch and there was a blanket nearby so I covered him up with it. The kitten is obsessed with small spaces and being covered up so it didn't phase him at all. Of course when I turned to look at him again he had rolled over while still under the blanket and it was one of the cutest things I have ever seen, he didn't even move when I got up to get the camera.

I like to sleep on my back

Sir Wallis the Bear is settling in quite well in his new kingdom.

The Case of the Missing Collar

Another old story:

The puppies are over a year old now and my parents decided that maybe it was time to trust them a little. So when they left for a few hours in the middle of the afternoon they left Pepper and Ginger out of their crates so that they could have the run of the house...not the best idea my parents ever had.

They returned home 2 or 3 hours later to see Wally sitting in the middle of the room with a terrified look on his face and no collar, not to mention all the chaos around him (which I guess could have been worse, my stuff was still in tact). The collar it turned out was on the other side of the room with one of the safety latches missing all together and was never seen again. Mom bought the poor little guy a new shiny black one to match his fur and the puppies stay in their crates when no one is home.

What are you, a dog?

I promise most stories will have happened the day I post them, but some I just have to share.

After the puppies got hit by a car and were trapped in their crates for a couple of weeks mom moved their food and water into smaller bowls that she can give them in their crates...sadly we forgot that their water was Wally's too.

Mom and I were sitting in her room going through some yard sale things for when I moved in a couple of weeks when watched Wally walk past us and into my parents bathroom, we didn't think anything of it, until so weird sounds started coming from the back near the shower and toilet so I went to see what was going on. Wally had managed to get up onto of the toilet seat, the lid was open, and we was leaning down as far as he could and was actually DRINKING from the toilet, at which point I realized that he hadn't had anything to drink for almost 2 whole days and i rushed to find his Eve kitty bowl (from the movie Wall-e) that I was saving for when we moved. I filled it with water and put it in the kitchen where the puppy's water used to be, and where, from Wally's perspective, it belonged (he doesn't like it when I move things).

He has yet to drink out of the toilet since.

They just keep going, and going, and going

So last night I didn't get home until after 10:00 pm, which compleatly threw off Wally's scedule, because instead of currling up in bed with me and falling asleep as I read Harry Potter he tried to destroy my room and get into everything. I had to keep getting up and punishing him and taking stuff away, then he would get all mad and just sit still in the middle of the floor, then of course as soon as I got comfertable he would start all over again. I'm still not quite sure what it was that he was ripping up under my bed...

The Girl Next Door

So over the weekend, during the yard sale Wally caught a glimpse of the cat that lives upstairs, Candy. While I was trying to take stuff outside to put into my car tonight Candy tried to get into the apartment while Wally tried to get out. Its hard enough to make a tricky cat like Wally do what I want anyway, but try to keep track of two of them.

Then as I was getting into my car Wally was in the big picture window, sitting on his tree which is situated directly in between the two blinds, and his head and one of his arms was hanging past the blinds while he watched me and Candy, who had followed me to my car before wondering off again.
